Contemporary Christianity spends a lot of time approaching ministry from a “seeker sensitive” perspective. This has led many people to the erroneous belief that Christianity is first and foremost about meeting our needs. We’ve applied modern marketing principles to the Church and now we think Christianity should cater to our every whim in the same way as commercial companies. Our level of participation in the Christian life is guided by the question, “What’s in this for me?”
But this focus on man in the church is a relatively new one. For centuries, believers in the Lord Jesus Christ understood the biblical doctrines that place the focus on God — not man. They knew our lives are to glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31). They knew the good works done in His name are for His glory (Matthew 5:16). They knew that God grants to us gifts so that He may be glorified (1 Peter 4:10-11), and they understood that even Christ’s crucifixion was meant to bring glory to the Father (Philippians 2:8-11). Their lives were guided by a different question, “Does this bring glory and honor to my Lord?”
For One Films produces short films designed to reacquaint Christians with this biblical doctrine that has been all but lost in our post-modern mankind-centered world.
While we are certainly the beneficiaries of God’s redemptive plan we need to understand that His plan is first and foremost for His glory. The Bible was written for us — but it is about God.
For One Films makes movies to please and honor an audience of One.
